It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but East Webster ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Mooreville Troopers out 4-3. The victory was just what East Webster needed coming off of a 7-1 loss in their prior matchup.

Carson Norwood made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits (he also didn’t allow any walks). Norwood was also solid in the batter’s box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with a home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Briceton Johnson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Stetson Perkins was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

East Webster has been performing incredibly well recently as they’ve won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Mooreville, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.

East Webster didn’t take long to hit the field again: they’ve already played their next contest, a 5-1 win vs. Kosciusko on the 13th. Mooreville has also already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Belmont on the 13th.
